MITA is the membership network for independent training providers in the moving image sector. It was established in 2007 by a group of nine independent training providers, and launched later the same year with support from Film London and the London Development Agency.
The independent training sector has been an influential presence providing high quality industry-standard training for many years. This ranges from high quality scriptwriter training to technical craft skills. The sector operates with a strong social inclusion remit and many of the individuals who benefit from this training are drawn from groups that are under represented in the workforce of the media industries or on screen.
The following people make up MITA’s Board of Directors:
Sharon Goode (Chair), Director, FT2
Marc Boothe, Director, B3 Media
Deborah Kingsland, Head of Training and Development, DFG
Joan Leese, Training Director, VET
Carla Mitchell, Development Director, Four Corners
Simon Oatley, Chief Executive, The Film and Video Workshop
Andy Porter, Director, Hi8us South
Pierre Vella, Media Arts Coordinator, Space
