About this course

This bundle includes both the required annual MOT training and the annual assessment for testers working on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles.

It ensures you meet DVSA requirements in a single, streamlined package — removing the need to book training and assessment separately.

All MITA courses and assessments are developed by professionals who have done the job — or are still doing it. That means the content reflects real-world testing, written in a way that makes sense to working testers, not academic theory.

You can complete the training digitally at your own pace, taking as much or as little time as you need, or choose to attend in a classroom environment with your approved regional training provider.

This qualification bundle combines both the required annual MOT training and the annual assessment for testers working on Class 4 and Class 7 vehicles. It provides a streamlined approach to meeting DVSA requirements, allowing learners to complete both elements in a single, structured package.

The training element ensures that learners remain up to date with the latest MOT testing standards, procedures, and regulatory updates, while the assessment confirms ongoing competence. Developed by experienced MOT professionals, the content is practical, relevant, and reflective of real-world testing environments, focusing on common challenges, compliance risks, and best practice.

This bundled approach removes the need to arrange training and assessment separately, offering a simple and efficient way for MOT testers to maintain compliance and continue operating within the MOT scheme.

Content overview

  • Current MOT testing standards and procedures
  • Common testing errors and areas of non-compliance

Training typically takes around 3 hours, followed by a 1-hour assessment. Additional time may be available for the assessment where reasonable adjustments are required.

This qualification is delivered via MITA-approved centres and can be accessed either digitally or through classroom-based environments. The training element may be completed online at the learner’s own pace or in a structured classroom setting, while the assessment is conducted under controlled conditions, including invigilated environments for classroom delivered courses, to ensure integrity and compliance.
