Training typically takes around 3 hours, followed by a 1-hour multiple choice assessment. The assessment consists of approximately 30 questions and must be completed within the allocated time.

This qualification can be completed online or through a MITA-approved training provider. Training is flexible - either at your own pace or in a classroom - while all assessments are carried out under controlled conditions, including e-proctoring and/or classroom invigilation where required.

Entry requirements
You must already be a qualified MOT Tester authorised to test Class 4 and 7 vehicles.

Following successful completion of the training and assessment, learners are required to undertake a DVSA demonstration test. This is arranged directly with the DVSA, where a Vehicle Examiner will assess competence in carrying out an MOT test on a Class 3 vehicle.
